Hector Hammond is a character created by John Broome and Gil Kane. He is a scientist working for Checkmate who is jealous of all the attention Hal Jordan gets. When he is hit with a shard of Parallax, he gains telepathy and telekinesis, which he uses to try to kill Hal Jordan and all of Hal's loved ones. Hal manages to defeat him.
