Ra's Al Ghul is a character created by Dennis O'Neil, Dick Giordano and Neal Adams. He is a criminal mastermind obsessed with wiping out humanity so that he may rebuild the world in his image. He is an expert martial artist and swordsman and an extremely intelligent person. Thankfully, Batman always manages to defeat him.
